Postcard perfect - A quick stop-over in Zurich

Still intent on revisiting my holiday which was over almost a week ago, I decided to take a look at some of the photos I took while on a stop-over in Zurich. Most people think I'm crazy, having a stop-over when I'm going back home, a flight to Tel Aviv from London would usually take about 5 hours, but I absolutely hate flying so in recent years started booking in-direct flights with a stop-over, that way I can get a break between my flights and also step out of the airport for a few hours and explore a city I might have never been to. My favourite stop-over city has always been Amsterdam but this time around I found a really cheap flight through Zurich and it was a great opportunity to visit a city I last been when I was 6.
Zurich is a great stop-over city as it's just a 10 minute train ride from the airport and the airport authorities actually encourage passengers on a stop-over to venture into the city if time allows.
I have very fond memories from my first visit to Zurich when I was a kid so I was really excited when I got into the city and had a chance to walk around. Despite the cold weather it was still a great way to take a break between flights, I had a chance to walk around the city centre and munch on some great Swiss chocolate and pastries (which I deeply regret not buying more of to take back to the UK!). I have to admit the city was even prettier than I imagines and the air felt so fresh and clean, the very few people I had a chance to speak with were lovely and it made me think of how much I would love to go back for a proper visit to the city.

Not a sequin in sight

Not a sequin in sight

The countdown has begun, the Christmas lights are on and the shops are starting to fill with all sorts of sparkly and sequiny 'holiday' outfits that make me want to scream. Luckily this year I'm skipping most of the holiday festivities, but I'm still faced with on pre-Christmas wedding and a work-do, so braced myself , took a deep breath and picked up a few slightly different and potential holiday outfit gems from Cos and &Other stories that still look incredible without even one sequin in sight. Here's for a simple and chic holiday outfit!

The mac

So here's one of those items that I can say my mum made me buy or actually begged me to buy before I went on holidays and for which I really should thank her as it turned out to be a great find!
It's just a simple black mac but I absolutely love it. I dropped it into my suitcase after she told me I should probably take a light jacket with me and I'm actually really glad I did. I never owned a mac before and never actually thought of trying one on but I really like this one from H&M because it's light and a little slouchy rather than tailored and structured and it's been a blessing to have one here on holiday with me as the weather was really not as warm as I expected and I got tired of wearing my varsity jacket over and over again for a few days.
In general I must say I've been really lazy, with my suitcase only arriving yesterday I found myself happily relying one skirt, one jacket and two t-shirts but today has been a little cold and the mac which came with my suitcase yesterday, was very handy for all the running around I had to do as the weather was so unsettled for most of the day  and I'd really be happy if I get more use of it when I return to England although at the moment it doesn't seem like it's going to happen soon with the weather at the moment but I'm trying to keep being positive and hope the long winter will end soon.
